Hi – I’m new to hard-core ‘couponing’ but am enjoying it so far – I have a question though….

Today when I went to my local Walgreens – they indicated their store would NOT accept internet coupons. I kindly indicated I would not be purchasing the Progresso soup, but still took advantage of a couple of other great deals – HAVE YOU HEARD OF THIS BEFORE? I think I might try to contact the store manager. Otherwise I’ll have to try my luck at the other local store. Also, the cashier was reluctant to accept my coupon for the Garnier Fructis which would provide me a 1cent overage –is this common too? Thanks in advance – I’m LOVING savings such major moola!!

Thanks
Heather

Unfortunately it is pretty common. Not all stores have a set-in-stone coupon policy which means everything is up to the store manager – and they can’t always make up their minds. One Walgreens that I go to I can use an IP one day and not the next or I’ll actually get $$ back for the overage or I won’t be allowed to use a coupon that gives overage at all. It can be very frustrating but it is expected. I try not to get too upset over the deals I’ve missed because there are so many!

I think you handled it very well, saying kindly that you would not purchase the soup. Hopefully you won’t have these problems again. You might try a different Walgreens if you have another nearby to see if you can use your IPs there.
