We Fit Families Mothers Day Bash + Giveaway! (NOW CLOSED)

WeFitFamilies.com is having a Mother’s Day Mega Bash as part of their Building Stronger Families 2009 campaign, and I’m very excited to be a part of it! WeFitFamilies.com wants to honor all of the overworked, overstressed mamas out there trying to live a healthy lifestyle.

I am always struggling with ways to be healthy. Even though I have very unhealthy habits, I want my kids to be healthy and fit! For exercise, we go on frequent walks around the neighborhood. The kids enjoy it so much, and they have no idea that it’s exercise! In the summer we spend most days at the swimming pool. We also like to visit the playground on nice days to get some fresh air and exercise.

I also want my kids to learn healthy eating habits. I try to make sure they get plenty of fruits and vegetables every day. I keep a fruit basket in the kitchen which my kids always go to first when they are hungry for a snack. I’m so happy that they head for apples instead of chips! Having the fruit right where they can see it is what helps – they want what they see! I also like to keep kid-size portions of grapes and baby carrots available for quick snacks. I divide them into snack-size baggies, and they are ready to go when we want a snack in a hurry.

I’ve found doing these little things helps to keep us headed toward a healthier lifestyle. It certainly helps having the encouraging group of moms at WeFitFamilies.com to come up with creative ways to live healthier.
