Allison,

I usually ask first if I need to separate my transactions or if I could just do it all together. They usually are in favor of the time-saving method of using them all at once.

If you call the customer service line they will give you something to print out to protect you next time you try it...they also can tell who your cashier was by your receipt info and they will contact their supervisor and educate them...they then send you some $3 off any purchase coupons for your inconvinience.

Catherine and Sheri,

The policy clearly states:

• Coupon amount may be reduced if it exceeds the value of the item after other discounts or coupons are applied.
• We can’t give cash back if the face value of a coupon is greater than the purchase value of the item.

If you have problems with coupons, just show them those points on the policy.

Good news on the cheese though - it now automatically adjusts when scanned to take off 80¢, so no more beeps for that coupon!

I have a problem with Target too when I use coupons on trial sizes. This last trip they treated me like I was stealing because I was using coupons. I purchased the two trial size arm&hammer toothpastes and used the $3 off coupon. The clerk told me that they had to adjust the price of the coupon to reflect the amount of the two trial sizes...when I told them that they could not just give me $1.94 and then send in the coupon and get its face value of $3 they were then frauding the manufacturer...How can they do that? it isn't like they are losing money on me using a coupon why do they treat it like that. When I told the clerk that I would just buy another toothpaste to get my $3 coupon she said she couldn't let me do that either...then when I tried calling corporate office the person there didn't have any idea what I was talking about. What can we do as shoppers to stop Target from basically stealing?

Great! I've been meaning to contact Target because I have a question.

The employees at my Target told me that Target recently made a change and they won't allow the use of coupons on trial size items. For example, on the current deals, they wouldn't let me use their cheese coupon on the individually packaged string cheese, and they wouldn't let me use my $1 Tide coupon on the trial size. The register said there were no matching products for that coupon.

Does anybody know more about this? Is this a corporate decision or a local/regional decision? How would I find out for sure? The online policy doesn't show any restrictions on trial size. So what do I do when the coupon "beeps?"

Thank you for your help!
