CVS & Walgreens Scenarios for Beginner’s 7/19

This is a really great week to start couponing….even if you don’t have any coupons!

I know a lot of you are new to my site and couponing, and that you may not have accumulated many coupons yet.  I’m going to show you how to get some great deals at Walgreens and CVS without needing any coupons to start!

I know it may be intimidating to do several transactions at once, but doing several transactions will result in you paying less. Don’t worry! If there are other people waiting in line just move to the back of the line after each transaction. This will give you time to go over your receipt and make sure everything rang up correctly.

CVS has lots of school supplies Free After Extra Bucks this week.

First you need to go into CVS and sign up for an Extra Care Card. Then pick up the weekly sale flier at the front of the store and locate the Free School Supplies offers so you can see what you need to look for. Then pick out the items indicated in the scenario.

The cashier should ask for your Extra Care Card before scanning any of your items. You need to use your own card to get the ECBs (Extra Care Bucks = CVS Money).

1st Transaction

(1) Caliber or CVS/Pharmacy Filler Paper 150 sheets $2
(1) Caliber or CVS/Pharmacy No. 2 Pencils 24 ct $1.99
Pay: $3.99 + tax

An ECB for $2 and an ECB for $1.99 will print at the bottom of your receipt. Tear or cut them off.

2nd Transaction

(1) Vinyl Binder 1″ $3
(1) Caliber or CVS/Pharmacy Memo Book 50-80 sheets 99¢
Give the cashier the $2 ECB and $1.99 ECB you just tore off your receipt from the 1st transaction
Pay: $0 + tax

An ECB for $3 and an ECB for 99¢ will print at the bottom of your receipt. Tear or cut them off and save them for next week! OR you could do the same two scenarios again using the ECBs you have in the first transaction!

So, for just $3.99 + tax you now have 1 Pack of Paper, 1 Pack of Pencils, 1 Binder,  and 1 Memo Book and $3.99 ECBs to use later! Keep your ECBs in your wallet or an envelope in your purse so you don’t lose them – they are just as good as money at CVS!

  1. thanks for all the great info! Im still new at this and I just have to vent and say that its so stressful at my CVS. If I go on Sunday morning they usually dont even have the labels out. I went this afternoon (Sun) and they didnt have the binders at all and were out of the pencils (and still out of the ones from a few weeks ago). I was using a raincheck for some tape and the checker, who was very nice and patient, had no idea how to do them and credit the ECBs. I did 3 or 4 transactions and it took FOREVER. It always does. anyways its just really stresses me out. Got a lot of great stuff though 🙂
