10 Ways to Decorate for Spring on a Budget

I’m loving the fact that flowers are in bloom, the days are getting longer and the birds are constantly chirping. But my house is still in cozy, winter mode. So I decided to start updating my decor for spring. Here are some ways to decorate for spring on a budget.

1. Decorate with fresh flowers.

This is the easiest way to refresh your house! Go outside to your garden and pick some flowers. Or take a walk with your kids and pick some along the way (making sure to only pick flowers on shared land – not someone’s front yard!).

2. Change out pillow cases rather than pillows.

These are some of my favorite spring pillow cases. It helps to start with a color scheme idea (yellow, pastels etc) that will liven up your space. Stick with that color theme throughout your decor.

3. Paint mason jars pretty pastel colors.

If you need to brighten up your space, use the same color scheme as above and add color to your mason jars. This is a great step-by-step on how to do it. You can even add your fresh flowers to these.

4. Decorate terra cotta flower pots.

This is a great way of reusing your old pots that are sitting around your yard. You can paint them or use colorful paper.

5. Update your mantel for spring.

I love this egg garland. It’s super easy to make and brightens up your living room.

6. Make a jelly bean tree.

This is such a fun idea! We always have so much leftover candy (especially jelly beans), that this is a great way to use them up, without rotting the kids’ teeth.

7. Mason jar candy pedestal.

Another way to spiff up your place while using leftover candy! Plus, you get to use mason jars again, which is always fun.

8. Tulip wreath.

This is super pretty and you can be inspired by your color scheme you chose from above. You’ll need silk mini-tulips so stop by the Dollar Tree since they have some beautiful, very colorful ones (labeled crocus online).

10. Rain boot flower pots.

April showers, right? Instead of lamenting the amount of rain we’ve been having, embrace it! Use your old rain boots and fresh flowers (or silk ones), and spiff up your porch.
