Back-to-School Shopping Trip – 78% Savings on School Supplies!

I really love shopping for school supplies, so I’m going to be sad when all the back-to-school sales are over. It’s been fun though! I’ve shopped the office supply sales almost every week since they started. It’s very convenient because the stores are on our way home from church, so I don’t have to drive out of my way.

Here’s where I shopped this week:

Office Depot

(3) Binders 50¢ each
(3) Glue Sticks (4 pack) 50¢ each
(3) Erasers (12 pack) 1¢ each
(3) Spiral Notebooks 1¢ each

Total Paid: $3.06
Total Saved: $14.22

Staples

(5) Filler Paper 1¢ each
(1) Sheet Protectors (100 pk) $5
(1) Notebook Tabs $2

Total Paid: $7.63
Total Saved: $16.68

Office Max

(5) Spiral Notebooks 1¢ each
(2) Yellow Pencils 5¢ each
(3) School Glue 15¢ each
(2) Crayola Crayons (24 ct.) 15¢ each
(2) Washable Markers $1 each
(3) Colored Pencils $1 each
(1) Sharpies Essential Pack FREE (with coupon and $5 purchase)

Total Paid: $5.90
Total Saved:  $26.32

Total Spent on Everything Pictured: $16.59
Total Saved: $57.22 (78%)

I think we are set for school supplies for the year (maybe longer)! I’m so glad I was able to shop a little bit at a time over the last few weeks and pick up these items when they were extremely discounted.

I didn’t share all my shopping trips but between the three trips (including this one) that I shared here on Couponing 101, I was able to save almost $100! Granted, I probably wouldn’t have paid full price for all of those items, but I have had to make a quick run to the store for pencils, glue, and notebook paper before, and it does add up pretty quickly!

Is everyone ready for back to school? Were you able to spread out your shopping trips and take advantage of deals, or did you do all your shopping at once?

Be sure to check out all the great Back-to-School Sales on School Supplies this week!

  • I've shopped Back to School deals for 2 years now. My middle one is starting kindergarten this year (sniff, sniff!) and just by shopping from my own little overstock that I piled up last year, I was able to check off over half of his needed supplies! I only spent $9.95 OOP for his whole kindergarten list! I was so proud of myself!
