I’ve realized that I haven’t been making my coupon matchup posts very easy for beginner’s to understand. I’m so familiar with all the terms and abbreviations that I forget not everyone knows what RR or ECB or 3/22 SS means. To make my posts easier to understand I am going to stop using abbreviations. Hopefully this will help those who are just starting out.

IMHO, the best thing about the new version is where you put in parentheses the 'doubles and triples to' amount, and it could be abbreviated to something like this:
Pillsbury Toaster Strudels $1.88
- 35¢/1 Q (2/8 GM) = (3X to $1.05) -OR- (TRPQ=$1.05)
= 83¢
or maybe
Powerade Zero 68¢
- 40¢/1 Q (3/22 SS - doubles to 80¢) -OR- (DBL to $.80) -OR- (2XQ=$.80)
= Free
Just a thought. Maybe I am the only one not quick enough to do the math, so it would help it "add up" in my mind when I am up after midnite searching deals! JMO! Thanks for considering. :)
I'm pretty new to couponing but have frequented your site since I started and feel like I got the abbreviations down pretty quickly. So I too prefer the old way, as it was easier to read (and, as others have said, probably easier for you to type out).
That said, I appreciate all you do, so you can do whatever you want and I won't complain!
I like the new way...but I bet when I really understand this, I'll like the old way. LOL
It's far easier to understand without having to look up all the abbreviations.

I also like the "old" way. It is much more consise and usually doesn't run over to the next line. It doesn't take long to get used to the abbreviated format at all. I also like that you do it the same way for all the different stores. Consistency is key to learning anythign new. Any new beginner is going to have to figure out what Smartsource and Red Plum are anyway and that requires a trip to the "Getting Started" section. I agree with the others. I prefer the old style. It's much easier to skim. I have only been couponing about 3 months, but felt like I got the hang of the abbreviations quickly. If I come upon something I don't understand, I'll still reference the reference section as well.

I am new to couponing (3mths) but the old way is much easier to read it only takes us newbies a wk to get the abbr BUT you could just post a little ledger for referrence. I MUCH prefer the old style post. Thanks for trying to make it easier on everyone but it only takes a week or so and the newbies know the lingo :)
I think the new format takes too long to read and is probably longer for you to type out. I am new to couponing and didn't have a problem learning the terms with your quick reference sections. Thanks for posting all the deals, however you decide to do it!!!

I know the new format is a little easier for beginners, but then I thought thats why you have the 'Getting started' and the 'Couponing Terms and Abbreviations ' sections on your site. I'm fairly new at couponing (about 2 months), but I think I've got the hang of it. Also, I would think the new format is more time consuming for you to write out?
