Couponing 101 Blog Features – Did You Know…

I know not everyone is familiar with reading blogs, so I wanted to point out a couple features (some old, some new) on Couponing101.com!

Subscribing

First off, did you know you can subscribe to my blog?  At the end of each day an email goes out to all my subscribers that contains everything I’ve posted that day.  This is really great if you forget to bookmark sites, or just prefer to read everything in email.  Just remember that some deals come and go quickly, so you might miss out on some time-sensitive deals.  You can always pop over to my site during the day to see the latest deals.  You will also need to visit my actual site to leave comments and enter giveaways.  Oh, and it’s a completely free service!  Don’t worry, your email address is only used for the purpose of the email subscription – they are not collected for any other purpose whatsoever.  You can also unsubscribe any time you wish by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every email.  I know that daily emails are not for everyone, which is why you can also subscribe in an RSS reader……

An RSS reader will display posts from ALL your favorite blogs in one place.  When you see an RSS button (mine is in the form of a small orange heart in my sidebar), just click on it to subscribe to that website’s RSS feed.  You choose the reader you want (my preference is Google) and then their updates will begin showing up in your reader.  Then you can go to your reader whenever you want (I have mine bookmarked on my browser) and see if there are any updates to the blogs you read.  That way, if you read more than one blog, you can just go to one site and read them all, instead of going to several different websites.  This service is completely free as well, and very simple to set up.

Comments

I {heart} comments.  Seriously.  They make my day.  Did you enjoy my post?  Please leave a comment!  Did I miss a deal?  Leave a comment!  Want to say “hi!”?  Leave a comment!  I can’t always respond to them all, but I read every single one!  Shout out to some of my regular commenters: Hi Raquel, Wylene, Melissa, and Shelly! 🙂 If you are reading my blog in an email or reader, you will need to click on the large bold title of the post to come to the site, scroll to the bottom of the post, and write your comment in the large white comment form.

You might also consider adding a picture so I can see your face when you comment!  It’s really simple: register your email address (the one you use when you leave a comment) with Gravatar and upload a picture – you can use a picture of your cat, a flower, yourself, or anything you like!  Then, when you leave a comment here, or on any other blog that supports gravatar, your picture will show up!  I like seeing pictures so much better than the default “mystery man!”

Print and Share

Did you know you can print my posts?  Each post has these cute little icons near the bottom that let you share my posts in a variety of ways.  If you click on the little printer image you can print my post.  This is so great for my grocery store matchups – just print my list and take it to the store with you!  The list is customizable too – you can delete any items that you don’t want on there.  There are also buttons to let you share my post via email, facebook, twitter, and several other ways.  I know those little icons often get overlooked, so I just wanted to remind you that they are there!

Facebook

I know you are probably sick of me talking about Facebook (especially if  you don’t use it, right?), but there are so many benefits to having a profile there.  I have not been on facebook that long, but I get so much use out of it already!  There have been countless exclusive freebies and coupons available for facebook members only lately that I’ve been able to get.  I also have a Couponing 101 fan page set up!  Occasionally there will be a deal or coupon that I know will go lightening fast (probably before I could finish typing a post) so I just send a quick note to my facebook fans letting them know about the deal.  That way I’m able to at least help a few people get the deal or freebie!

I hope that these tips will help some of you be able to utilize my site a little better!  If you have any suggestions, questions, or thoughts, please share in the comments! 😉

  • I'd never seen the print icon. Thanks for the post. I appreciate all your do, especially the store matchups.

    • Donna,

Thanks! The print icon is new (I had the other icons but forgot the printer - oops!). I really hope that feature will benefit my readers.

  • Hey Stephanie! Enjoyed reading the blog features and tips. :) Unless I just now noticed it, I like the new section you have now featuring "categories" and your top posts!

    • Thanks! The section at the bottom is new and I'm still playing around with it to see what all I want in there.

Great picture by the way! :)
