CVS & Walgreens Scenarios for Beginner’s (3/27 – 4/3)

This is a really great week to start couponing….even if you don’t have any coupons!

I know a lot of you are new to my site and couponing, and that you may not have accumulated many coupons yet.  I’m going to show you how to get some great deals at Walgreens and CVS without needing any coupons to start!

I know it may be intimidating to do several transactions at once, but doing several transactions will result in you paying less. Don’t worry! If there are other people waiting in line just move to the back of the line after each transaction. This will give you time to go over your receipt and make sure everything rang up correctly.

There aren’t a lot of CVS deals this week, but there is a great deal on Huggies Diapers!

First you need to go into CVS and sign up for an Extra Care Card. Then pick up the weekly sale flier at the front of the store and locate the Huggies Diapers offer so you can see what you need to look for. Then pick out the items indicated in the scenario below.

The cashier should ask for your Extra Care Card before scanning any of your items. You need to use your own card to get the ECBs (Extra Care Bucks = CVS Money).

1st Transaction

(2)  Huggies Diapers $8.89 each
Use (2) $3/1 Huggies Printable Coupons
Pay: $11.78 + tax

An ECB for $5 will print at the bottom of your receipt. Tear or cut them off and save them for next week! OR you could purchase any other items on sale this week.

So, for just $11.78 + tax you now have 2 Packages of Huggies Diapers and $5 ECBs to use later! Keep your ECBs in your wallet or an envelope in your purse so you don’t lose them – they are just as good as money at CVS!

This is a great week to start shopping at Walgreens because there are several items advertised as Free after Register Rewards!  Using coupons will earn you a profit!

First you need to go into Walgreens and pick up the weekly sale flier at the front of the store. You do not need any kind of reward card for Walgreens. Pick out the items indicated in the scenario.

1st Transaction

(1) Dove Shampoo or Conditioner $4
Use $2/1 Dove Printable Coupon
Pay $2 + tax

A coupon called a Register Reward will print out after you pay (be patient!) for $4 off your next purchase of anything (except Dove products!).

2nd Transaction

(1) Walgreens One Daily Vitamins 100ct $3
(1) Dentek Floss 55 yds $2
Give the cashier the $4 Register Reward you earned from the 1st transaction
Pay: $1 + tax

Earn a $3 Register Reward and a $2 Register Reward

So, for just $3 + tax you now have 1 Dove Shampoo, 1 Floss, 1 Vitamins, and $5 in Register Rewards to use later! Keep your Rewards in your wallet or an envelope in your purse so you don’t lose them – they are just as good as money at Walgreens! Don’t forget about them because they will expire in 2 weeks. If you are afraid of forgetting about them you can go ahead and use them now to buy something you need like toilet paper or paper towels or any of the other items on sale this week.  Just don’t use the rewards to buy more of the same items or you won’t get new rewards.

These deals are valid Sunday, March 27th through Saturday, April 3rd.

    1 Softsoap Bodywash$2.99 (had $1 coupon)
