Daily Frugal Tip: Reuse Shredded Cheese Bags

Don’t throw out those empty shredded cheese bags! You can rinse them out and reuse them to store or freeze other foods! The plastic is thick (like freezer bags) and has a good quality zip seal. Why buy new when you don’t have to?

Thanks, Shirley!

  • That idea finally occurred to me! Love the quality of the bags! I just froze some ground beef mix in two of them. I would not be too concerned about sanitizing them. They can be washed in hot water with dish soap just like any other plastic container. If the bag is safe to hold my shredded cheese, I can use it again to freeze other food. I think we have been brain-washed by Ziploc and Co to consider any bag as one-time-use.
