7 Family-Friendly Netflix Movies to Watch This Weekend

Your Netflix subscription comes with an added bonus: affordable family fun. Whenever you need an easy weekend activity, look no further than your Netflix account! These seven family-friendly Netflix movies can provide you with all the entertainment you need to fill your weekend with fun.

Despicable Me 3

“Despicable Me 3” makes the list because both children and adults find it hard to resist the comic hilarity of Minions. In “Despicable Me 3,” Gru meets his long-lost twin.

Coco

“Coco” makes the cut of the top family-friendly Netflix movies to watch this weekend because it has garnered a lot of critical acclaim. But behind that acclaim is a great movie about family. In “Coco,” a boy goes on a quest into the afterlife to meet his ancestor.

The Incredibles 2

“The Incredibles 2” deserves a spot on this list because it is the second installment in the super-popular “The Incredibles” franchise that follows a family of superheroes. In this movie, Mr. Incredible becomes a full-time parent.

Mulan

“Mulan” isn’t the most current movie on this list, but it is definitely worth including since a live-action “Mulan” is set for release in 2020. Before you see the live-action version in theaters, your family can enjoy the classic Disney film on Netflix. In this movie, a young woman pretends to be a man in order to join the Chinese Army.

Mary Poppins Returns

It can be hard to find a family-friendly movie that isn’t entirely animated, which is one of the reasons why “Mary Poppins Returns” makes this list. Plus, music, elaborate costumes, and big dance numbers make this movie fun to watch. “Mary Poppins Returns” follows the magical nanny as she returns to help a family.

Coraline

Not all families like happy, upbeat movies, which is why “Coraline” makes this list. While “Coraline” is a children’s movie, it may be too dark and scary for young children. It follows a girl who travels to an alternate universe like her own but better…kind of.

The Emoji Movie

“The Emoji Movie” makes the list because it is set to leave Netflix on August 8, so this weekend may be one of your last chances to catch the movie through the streaming service. “The Emoji Movie” follows an emoji who has too many facial expressions.

If you’re looking for a fun way to spend the weekend, check out some of these family-friendly movies on Netflix!
