There may be free events in your area this weekend that can provide lots of fun. Here are a few ways to find free things to do near you.
Your local visitor bureau may maintain a list of area events and activities. You might check the bureau’s website, call the bureau, or stop by in person to find out if there are any free events being held in your area this weekend. Many communities host free concerts, festivals, or other events, so you might find something fabulously fun and free.
Facebook Events is chock-full of events and activities near you, and many of them are free! Since area communities, businesses, and non-profit organizations may all list their events on Facebook, you can find a nice mixture of different activities. You can often find out whether an event is free by reading the details on the event page.
Eventbrite is a great tool to discover area events. Simply search your region to find things that are happening near you. While there is a charge for many of the events listed, you can also filter your search so that you only see free opportunities. No need to tempt yourself with pricey concerts or other outings!
Word of mouth can be a powerful tool. Ask your friends, family, and neighbors for ideas of what you could do for free this weekend. They may have some fun, unique ideas you haven’t explored yet. Plus, once people know you’re looking for free fun, they might keep you in the loop the next time they hear about a great opportunity.
