8 Harry Potter Themed Recipes for a Magical Marathon

If you have time on your hands, you might be eager to make your return to Hogwarts or introduce your children to the Wizarding World. A “Harry Potter” movie marathon can be a fun way to fill your time. By themselves, the movies can bring a little magic into your ordinary life. But if you add amazing snacks to the mixture, your movie marathon can transfigure into an immersive experience. Here are some of our favorite recipes to serve during a “Harry Potter” movie marathon.

Harry Potter Butterbeer via Recipe Fairy

Butterbeer is one of the most famous drinks mentioned in “Harry Potter.” While you can find recipes for butterbeer candy, butterbeer cake, butterbeer cookies, and more, we think there’s nothing like the classic! That’s why we selected this easy, kid-friendly drink recipe.

Harry Potter Pumpkin Juice via Favorite Family Recipes

If you’ve been to Universal Studios in Orlando, this recipe may taste familiar. That’s because it is meant to replicate the pumpkin juice served at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in Universal Studios. It has a distinct fall flavor that may make you feel like you’re strolling around the Hogwarts grounds on a brisk autumn day. We selected it because the drink is so popular throughout the “Harry Potter” books.

Polyjuice Potion via This Grandma is Fun

Since polyjuice potion is used to transform one’s appearance to look like another person, this may seem like a strange beverage to include on the list. But we think a sip of polyjuice potion might be the perfect way to kick off a movie marathon and transform into wizards. Not only does this recipe look remarkably similar to what Hermione makes in the movies, but it is also super easy to make. (Note that this recipe does not have any magical properties that we’re aware of, so no literal transformation will occur).

Cornish Pasties via The Starving Chef

Pasties are quintessential British cuisine that are perfectly fit for a Hogwarts feast. We chose this recipe because these small pasties would be so easy to snack on while you watch, but they’re also chock-full of healthy veggies. And if meat isn’t your thing, subbing it out for mushrooms could be just as rich and satisfying.

Hogwarts Express Sweet and Savory Pumpkin Pasties via Miss Kitchen Witch

Inspired by the pumpkin pasties sold from the Honeydukes Express food trolley on the Hogwarts Express, these little pockets of goodness come in two options: sweet or savory. We included these recipes in this list because the savory version could act as an appetizer or an entrée, while the sweet version could be an ideal dessert.

Hogwarts House Cup Chicken via Moms Have More Fun

We selected this recipe in case you want something a little more substantial to serve at your viewing party. Roast chicken seems like the perfect centerpiece for a Hogwarts-style meal, and we think Ron would love these drumsticks! If you don’t like chicken, the seasoning blend could also work on other rich, hearty foods, like roasted potatoes or vegan meat alternatives.

Harry Potter: Treacle Tart via Feast of Starlight

Treacle tart is one of Harry Potter’s favorites! We included this sweet treat so that you can try it for yourself. It uses just seven ingredients and it isn’t too hard to make, but you may need to purchase the golden syrup online or shop at a grocery with a good selection of international foods. You can also find recipes for how to make it at home using more readily available ingredients.

Harry Potter Exploding Bon Bons via Get Away Today

Looking for an easy treat? This recipe uses just four ingredients, which is why we couldn’t resist adding it to the list. Plus, the exploding sensation from the Pop Rocks adds a fun and magical punch.
