  • @Kathy, I shopped at Alberston's today and did really well - better than at Kroger - which unusual. I wonder if this becomes a trend with all stores, will manufacturers consider putting out higher value coupons? It makes sense to me if they want their products to sell.

  • While this change makes me sad, it wont really hurt me that much as I go to Kroger, Tom Thumb, Albertson's, CVS, and Wal Mart almost every week. I bet you that Kroger will see a drop in their overall income from too many people who stop shopping there simply because of this change in their coupon policy. With all these other options I have I doubt I will continue shopping there at all. Not a smart move Kroger.

    • @Stephanie, I forget about Albertsons as I haven't been there in years since I started exclusively shopping at Kroger. If they keep the double and triples at Albertson, I will move my business with them. Sorry Kroger...this is going to hurt your business! Many couponers shop with you here!

  • does Randall's double and triple their coupons? I don't shop there but was told that they get most savings at Randall's. Can anybody comment on this?

    • @Jo M., Tom Thumb is the related store here and I never go there as I think they are more expensive on everything except the occasional good 3 day sale type thing. It probably all depends on what stores it is competing against though (like what stores are around you)

  • Well if it is at our store too, it looks like I won't be shopping there anymore except for the occasional markdowns search. Target and Walmart are cheaper when you don't have the double/triple factor. Maybe I'll have to start doing Albertsons since they still double/triple. I've only been there twice (when they did that great cat deal late last summer) but I guess I'll have to get more acquainted.

  • Hello Just thought I would pass this on to you . I have a manager of Krogers in the family (I live in Houston). She confirmed that the Kroger policy will change within the next few weeks. There will be no more double or triple coupons at any Krogers. She said the stores are losing too much money with the rise of food and gas costs to transport the food.
I was very sad to hear this.
Thought I would give you a heads up.
    Lorayne

  • I am in Mckinney and that is where I heard the manager. I just hope Tom Thumb does not change there coupon policy also.

  • Deeply saddened over the end to doubling and tripling. I have to retrain my brain to not automatically double a $0.50 coupon in my mind and consider it to be worth $1!

  • This is true! I heard on the news this morning that April 13 will end their doubling and tripling coupons! I'm not a happy customer!

  • My Kroger has updated their computer system so they now know if you already have an ecoupon loaded onto your Kroger card and if you do the system will not take the paper coupon for that item. So sad! Now if the above post is true and they are going to stop doubling and tripling I think I will be better off to shop at Walmart. :(
