Staples: $25 Worth of Sharpies FREE!

Update – The Sharpie deal is now dead!  I hope you were able to get in on this awesome deal!  If you’ve already placed your order but have not called for the $25 price adjustment, you can still call as long as you placed your order before the offer was pulled.

Through November 30th you can get $25 in Sharpie products from Staples for FREE!  I’d suggest hurrying though because several items have already sold out!

Here’s how:

1.  Shop through the Staples link at Shop at Home for 3% cash back or Ebates for 2% cash back.

2.  Add $25 worth of Sharpie products to your cart. (Not all Sharpies qualify – make sure it has the promo mentioned somewhere on the product page before purchasing)

3.  Enter coupon code 96140 – it will be rejected (but you’re going to try anyway aren’t you? lol) *This code is completely legitimate but is broken for some unknown reason.

4.  Place your order.

5.  Call Staples at 1-800-891-0195 and tell them about the code not working

6.  Receive $25 credit + tax (on the $25 only, not on any $$ amount above the $25) back onto your credit/debit card

7.  It’s like getting FREE Sharpies!

Plus, if you’re doing the battery deal too, here’s how to combine these deals to get free shipping:

1.  Sign up for a Staples Rewards account

2.  Shop through the Staples link at Shop at Home for 3% cash back or Ebates for 2% cash back.

3.  Add $25 worth of Sharpie products to your cart.

4.  Add (2) 20 packs (16+4 Bonus Packs) of AA or AAA Duracell Batteries at $12.99 each to your cart.

5.  Pay + Get Free Shipping for spending $50 or more

6.  Call Staples at 1-800-891-0195 and tell them about the code not working

7.  Receive $25 credit + tax (on the $25 only, not on any $ amount above the $25) back onto your credit/debit card

8.  Earn $25.98 in Staples Rewards (mailed in January)

9.  It’s like getting all that for FREE! (+ tax)

I have done this deal and it worked great!  Customer service was very friendly and helpful!

(Thanks, Thrifty Mama!)

  • I just called to get the code deal over the phone. There was an automated message saying the Sharpie code is no longer valid. bummer!

  • Complete waste of time. After finally finding Sharpies that weren't out of stock. I enter the coupon code and it is expired then try to call them and before I can reach anyone the sharpies I had put into my cart start vanishing and I get messages that they are out of stock... its like pushing a cart in a store only everyone and his dog is allowed to freely grab stuff from it while you are trying to get through the check out. Same thing happened trying WalMart on Black Friday online... a complete waste of time.

  • Ok, on hold for 30 minutes, but as soon as the rep saw my order and heard "coupon code" she knew why I was calling. Went really well. I was a little nervous since the code did work saying it was "expired", but it was fine. Thanks for the heads up!

  • I'm on hold with customer service about the coupon code right now. Move fast, I had a multipack added to my cart to have it removed later as "out of stock" before I could check out. I guess other people were faster than me. :) Oh well. I'm happy with what I'm getting; can't complain!

  • I personally found it much easier to pick out the items that I wanted online and just place the order over the phone by giving the Staples rep. the item numbers. I had quite a hectic time with them refunding my debit card. Also, for free shipping have the items sent to your nearest Staples for pick-up.

Thanks for sharing this awesome deal Stephanie!

BTW, get to orderin' cause as Stephanie said a lot of the Sharpie products are sold out!

  • Thanks! What an awesome deal. I decided to go ahead and place my order today...will call Customer Service in the morning for the coupon code not working.

  • Did the Sharpie and battery deal. Only waited about 5 minutes to report the code not working. They were great! Thanks for sharing these awesome deals!
