  1. I have the same problem at my Target in Holland, MI! They will one let you use one Target coupon per type of item. For example, if you get 2 bliss bars you can only use 1 Target coupon!

  2. Just wondering if anyone has trouble using more than one Target coupon per transaction. This week I bought 6 Bliss candy bars, for example, and they had to be rung up in 6 separate transactions, rather than all at once. I was able to use all 6 coupons, but it sure took a lot longer the way they said it had to be done. We have several Target stores in our area, so we know we can go elsewhere next time we have several items of the same to purchase with Target coupons. As I said – just wondering if anyone else had had problems.

  3. L,

    Fixed it – thanks!

    Joelle,

The coupon does not limit size, so it can be used on the trial. If you run into the problem again, you could kindly show them a different coupon with the terms “excluding trial size” and compare to the BB coupon that doesn’t say it. Clearly, if it doesn’t exclude the trial size then you are free to use the coupon on it.

  4. I went to Target yesterday for the Swiffer deals, .99 Bliss and the .69 Pringles, and the Nabisco 100 cal. packs. The grumpy cashier wouldn’t let me use the Bliss coupon because the picture showed the bag and also wouldn’t let me use th Pringles coupon because the picture was of the tall can. She tried to say no combining the manufacturer coupon with the Target coupon on the 100 calorie packs, but luckily I knew the policy on that one! I was very proud of myself. I didn’t bother arguing about the Pringles or Bliss because I got them at another Target last week and figure I’ll just hit them later this week. Our prices (Jacksonville, FL) are higher too. $1.24 for BBQ sauce and $2.79 for the Nabisco 100 cal packs- still a great deal with the coupons! Thanks Stephanie!

  5. i had the same problem with the banana boat sunscreen last night. no problems last week with the chex mix which proves it’s all about the checker you get. i had problems with the ritz coupons (both target and manufacturer) and couldn’t really understand what happened until i could get home and go through my receipt. i’m going back tonight to either get my $$ for the coupons she didn’t take or returning the items. i will take the policy with me.

more savings suggestions: skintimate shave gel combine the target coupon ($1) with a manufacturer coupon ($.75) for a total of $.49.

aquafresh (on clearance for $3.13) less target coupon for $1 and manufacturer coupon ($1 http://www.aquafresh.com/noflash.aspx) for a total cost of $1.13. i know toothpaste is often free at cvs or walgreens but i was lured in by the pretty packaging and labeling (extreme clean)!

  6. our target has way higher prices too (i’m just outside of dc)! i stopped by there last night and saw that the kraft dressing, for example, is almost $2.50 each, the bbq sauce is around $1.50. crazy, isn’t it?! i wish i lived near you!

  7. Thanks for all the great freebies etc… It’s a big help.
I went to target last week. The banana boat deal didn’t seem to work for me… they didn’t accept the coupons. They said the coupon was only supposed to be for the bigger sunscreen bottle. Did anyone else run into that problem?
    Thanks again!

  8. Stephanie,
Thanks, I wish I had had that policy in hand that night! The manager even refused to do it–and said it was “corporate policy”–which it does not appear to be. Of course, I don’t want the cash back, just to be able to use the coupon. They lost several sales from me because they refused to take it. Maybe I will take a copy from their website next time and try it.
Now, can you get them to reduce our prices to match the great ones in other areas of the country? Just kidding! You all are very lucky!

  9. Kathie and Lisa,

I’m sorry you are having problems. It might be a good idea to call or email Target to get a copy of their coupon policy.

    Here is their policy:

“Coupons are a great way to save even more when shopping at Target, and we make it easy to use them at our stores. But because of the variety of coupons available to our guests, we do have some guidelines for how coupons can be redeemed at Target:

-We accept two kinds of coupons: Target-issued coupons and manufacturer-issued coupons.
-We’ll accept one Target coupon and one manufacturer coupon for the same item, unless either coupon prohibits it.
-We can’t give cash back if the face value of a coupon is greater than the purchase value of the item; in that case, we’ll adjust the value of the coupon to equal the price of the item.
-We can’t accept coupons from other retailers, or coupons for products not carried in our stores.”

  10. Kathie,

Mine does too! They flat out refuse to accept any of their own coupons that are $1.00 off if the item is .99. They say you must buy the larger size and that the item price must exceed the amount of the coupon. I read alot of other people get, for example, the Chex Mix at the counter for free with the Target coupon, but not here.

Also, we are in Central Florida. Many items seem to be MUCH higher than elsewhere. Ex. The Roll On one with the $2.00 coupon where others get it for free—here it costs $3.82, $1.82 more!

Couple that with the Target $1.00 coupon items and I leave Tgt with a bad taste in my mouth! Bad public relations on their part!
