Remember the Toy Story 3 Mealtime Collectibles Mail-In Offer that was available back in June? They ran out of the collectables quickly and left a lot of people disappointed. Even though I mailed off our UPCs before the website announced they were out of stock, we still received a post card stating that they had run out of stock. However, the card also said they would be sending a special gift.
I had no idea what to look for or when it would arrive and soon forgot about it. Today my son and I received a nice surprise in the mail – a Toy Story 3 30-piece Stationary Set! For just the cost of a stamp, this was a fun little surprise! It may be disappointing for some people if you were set on getting the collectibles, but it WAS a freebie after all. And I’m impressed that they sent us anything at all! After their stock was depleted, they could have just ignored the submissions that came too late. I just love companies that go above and beyond!
Did anyone else get this surprise in the mail today?

We got the coupon for a free loaf of bread too. Our 5 year old son knew about it and wanted the lunchbox as well, we told him it would me a long time before it came in. I guess it will be longer than we thought, like never. I called the 800 number on the card and the woman I talked with said sorry from the company and offered to send more coupons for our trouble. I agree with Amy H. this is the end of Sara Lee for this family. You don't mess with a mothers kids.
@Mom G, I know, it is very disappointing, especially for our kids. I'm just glad Sara Lee is doing their best to try and make it right. I don't think they anticipated all the people wanting the freebies.
all we got was the coupon for a free loaf of bread too!
@kellyt, I'm kind of wishing I got the free bread - I love their bread!
We sent in the upcs (WAY before the offer expired), getting all excited to have a Toy Story 3 lunchbox for Kindergarten. Needless to say I was more than disappointed that we got back an UNOPENED envelope stamped with a 'out of stock' stamp. Nothing else. I will not buy Sara Lee bread again. In my opinion it was just a scam to buy their bread. They should've had more stocked. Dealing with adults is one thing, but when you let down kids, it is bad business.
@Amy H., My son was disappointed as well, but that was the risk I took by telling him about it. I think they may have just underestimated how popular this freebie would be. :(
Well we didn't get that but we did get a coupon for a free loaf of bread. We sent in 5 upc codes but I don't know if it was before or after the note on their website. How many codes did you send in?
@Kalley Sadler, I sent in 5 as well. Free bread is awesome!
I did! Well, actually we got a mini-backpack with similar stationary goodies. My son originally wanted the lunch box, but he got one for back to school anyway, so I think this is better! I wrote a happy little post about it too because I think its really awesome of Sara Lee to do something extra like this.
@Keri, Oh wow, a mini backpack is very cool!
