2019 Veteran’s Day Freebies and Deals (Updated)

Veteran’s Day is on Monday, November 11, 2019. This holiday is an important reminder to show our gratitude to military veterans for protecting our freedoms at home and abroad. Businesses and other organizations frequently get in on the act by offering discounts and freebies for veterans as well as those still serving. Keep reading to see what’s being offered to veterans and active duty military members this year. Some of them are even offered to non-veterans!

Free Meals

A lot of restaurants offer free meals to military members on Veteran’s Day. Here is a list of the best deals we found:

• Applebee’s: veterans and active duty military can choose from these free entrees all day:
  • Classic Bacon Cheeseburger
  • Chicken Tenders Platter
  • Fiesta Lime Chicken
  • Oriental Chicken Salad
  • 6oz. USDA Select Top Sirloin
  • Double Crunch Shrimp
  • Three-Cheese Chicken Penne
• Chili’s: veterans and active duty military can choose from these free entrees all day:
  • Chicken Crispers®
  • Margarita Grilled Chicken
  • Bowl of Chili or Soup & Salad
  • Chicken Bacon Ranch Quesadillas
  • Just Bacon Burger
  • Oldtimer with Cheese
  • Cajun Chicken Pasta
• Denny’s: free Build Your Own Grand Slam from 5am-12pm local time for veterans and active duty military.
• Golden Corral: free dinner from 5-9pm for veterans and active duty military.
• Hometown Buffet: active duty, reserve, or retired military personnel in uniform or with a valid ID receive 15% discount on Military Mondays (Every Monday including Memorial Day).
• Lucille’s BBQ: guests with a valid military ID will receive free dessert on November 11. Military families with a valid ID will also receive 20% off their entire bill (up to 4 guests) for the month of November, excluding Thanksgiving Day and all Thanksgiving menu items.
• Mission BBQ: free sandwich and slice of cake (while supplies last) for veterans and active duty military.
• Red Robin: free dine-in Red’s Tavern Double Burger and Bottomless Steak Fries for veterans and active duty military.
• Texas Roadhouse: free lunch from 11am-4pm local time for veterans and active duty military.

Free Car Wash

Through Grace For Vets, participating car wash operators offer free car washes on Veteran’s Day. Just search for a participating car wash near you and contact them for more details.

Free Park or Museum Admission

Several parks and museums offer free admission for current and former military members on Veteran’s Day. Mount Vernon, Colonial Williamsburg, the Harley-Davidson Museum are popular options that offer free admission for the holiday. Additionally, the National Park Service is waiving entrance fees to national parks for everyone, regardless of service. Other zoos, parks, and museums have also offered deals in the past, so you might want to check with your favorite local attraction to see if it is offering any special discounts.

Some businesses may require that you show military identification to verify your eligibility. You may wish to contact businesses ahead of time to confirm what deals they are offering and how to claim them.
