2019 Veteran’s Day Freebies and Deals

Veteran’s Day is on Monday, November 11, 2019. This holiday is an important reminder to show our gratitude to military veterans for protecting our freedoms at home and abroad. Businesses and other organizations frequently get in on the act by offering discounts and freebies for veterans as well as those still serving. Keep reading to see what’s being offered to veterans and active duty military members this year. Some of them are even offered to non-veterans!

Free Meals

Previous years, a lot of restaurants have offered free meals to military members on Veterans Day. Most restaurants have not yet confirmed what they will offer this year. However, Golden Corral has already confirmed that it will offer a Military Appreciation Night on November 11. During this event, anyone who has served in the US Military can receive a free dinner. Similarly, Applebee’s and Chili’s have also announced that they will offer free meals for veterans and active-duty military.

Free Car Wash

Through Grace For Vets, participating car wash operators offer free car washes on Veteran’s Day. Just search for a participating car wash near you and contact them for more details.

Free Park or Museum Admission

Several parks and museums offer free admission for current and former military members on Veteran’s Day. Mount Vernon, Colonial Williamsburg, the Harley-Davidson Museum are popular options that offer free admission for the holiday. Additionally, the National Park Service is waiving entrance fees to national parks for everyone, regardless of service. Other zoos, parks, and museums have also offered deals in the past, so you might want to check with your favorite local attraction to see if it is offering any special discounts.

Some businesses may require that you show military identification to verify your eligibility. You may wish to contact businesses ahead of time to confirm what deals they are offering and how to claim them.
