4 Free Things To Do In Orlando

Orlando is popular with families, but many have to really save up to afford theme park admission, hotel stays, and, of course, souvenirs. But if you’re visiting Orlando, you can still have fun even if your budget is limited. The Orlando area offers lots of free activities. Whether you use them for an affordable break from the theme parks or make them the focus of your trip, these four free activities are great for families.

Stroll Through Disney Springs

While Disney Springs is part of the Walt Disney World Resort, you don’t need park tickets to visit. In fact, this shopping, dining, and entertainment destination is free to enter. There’s even free self-parking! And there is plenty to do at Disney Springs without spending a dime. You can enjoy the theming, window shop, take in a free live musical performance, ride on a ferryboat, and more. If you love chocolate, don’t forget to stop by Ghirardelli…there are often free samples!

Visit Disney’s BoardWalk

Disney’s BoardWalk is themed to resemble a turn-of-the-century seaside boardwalk. While you can enjoy it anytime, it really comes alive at night, when you can watch street performers for free. You can also catch a free Friendship Boat, which features stops outside Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and nearby resorts.

Enjoy Universal CityWalk

Universal CityWalk offers shopping, entertainment, and restaurants. Admission to Universal CityWalk is free, as are water taxi rides. Self-parking is usually free after 6 p.m. For more free entertainment, you might consider taking a water taxi to Portofino Bay to enjoy Musica della Notte, which is a free opera performance that happens at sunset.

Check Out Old Town Kissimmee

Old Town Kissimmee is a walking district with shops, rides, and restaurants. While strolling this district is fun and free, Old Town Kissimmee also hosts quite a few free events, including old car cruises, stage performances, and more.
