Where’d Stephanie Go?

As you may have noticed, I have not posted any deals today. Why, you ask?

I just didn’t feel like it.

Yep. I said it.

I just am having one of those days where deal seeking is just not important.  I went to bed last night thinking I would go to the grocery store today and post all these awesome deals for you all.  Oh, and that I would clean my house top to bottom, have a great morning quiet time in the Word, work out, and do something fun with the kids. (I may have aimed a tad high…lol). Let’s just say….very little of that happened today.

I did exercise….for the first time in months.  A little advice – don’t try to run at a higher speed than usual for longer than usual when you haven’t worked out at all in months.  Just because you could do it 10 years ago should not be your reasoning behind attempting it.  My husband may claim that I am a bit of a drama queen by thinking I was going to die – or vomit – but I was not kidding!  The treadmill and I battled and the treadmill won…this time.  I am going to pay for it tomorrow too…

So, my day did not start out so great.  And I wish I could tell you it got better, but I don’t remember much of it. Seriously. Does that happen to anyone else? Is it a mom thing? I know that time passed and I can remember some things.  I know there was bubble-blowing with the kids, chalk drawings, a chat with my best friend, and the time-sucking alternate dimension that is Facebook.  Other than that, your guess as to where my day went is as good as mine!

So, not that any of that is really an excuse, but that is why there are no deals today.  Don’t get me wrong, there are plenty of deals.  I just haven’t shared them with you yet (I’m torturing you, aren’t I?).  My point is this though – it’s alright to take a break. There will be more deals tomorrow.  And even more after that.  The deals never. end.  You can skip one, or two, or ten and not feel guilty about it!

Now, please don’t hate me, but I’m going to head to bed and watch a movie and maybe clip some coupons.  Don’t worry though, tomorrow’s email will be packed with deals!  There are some really good deals out there too (okay, I’ll stop teasing now….hehe).

  1. Can I relate? I was so busy when I first read this post, that it’s taken me this long to reply (read 2 preschoolers and all the work that implies). Good for you, Stephanie. Anybody who regularly reads your blog will be OK missing one day of deals. Sometimes the best deal is a little free time. (pun intended)

  2. Wow…you really needed that break. Did you notice that only your fellow bloggers were sympathic to your break. Other coupon clippers and deal-slayers will just move on and hunt other websites for deals. Since you are dependent on them coming to your site and using that to get your necessary ad-revenue you should watch out on this front…..

    • @NV, It is a good thing I don’t blog for the money then! I would have quit a long time ago if I did.

I have received so many supportive and understanding comments and emails, and I am so incredibly grateful for my kind and loyal readers.

  3. You are not alone! I have days like that! Everyone deserves a day off from work, blogging, kids, husbands, etc! LOL. Watch a sappy love movie and cry yourself to sleep … you’ll feel better tomorrow! 🙂

  4. I feel your pain! I have had days exactly like that. I’ve noticed too, that if I force myself to blog anyway, its ends up short/confusing/boring. Enjoy your weekend!

  5. Good for you! I appreciate all you do on this blog. You’re my favorite one, and I refer all my friends to you here in the Pacific Northwest. BUT…there’s also so much more to life than couponing and getting good deals. Sometimes the danger for us couponers is getting so attached to it, feeling like we can’t miss out on any opportunities out there. The truth is, we need to stay balanced and not let ourselves get attached to all this “stuff” we could get. We all need to make sure we keep lasting rewards as our main priorities. Enjoy today, and Happy 4th!

  6. Yes, I’ve certainly had days like that! Especially getting sucked into the computer. You deserve the time away though, and we really do appreciate your time and efforts at couponing. It is your site that really makes my life a bit easier when it comes to my coupon day, and you should know that I am thankful that you are here.

  7. I came home the other night after robbing CVS (I mean, getting good ECB deals) and was so excited and my husband joked about my “golden CVS calf.” I realized he had a bit of a point, and while I love to save money (and help others do the same), all things need to be in moderation.

Go breathe deeply, enjoy the sunshine, and know that you are beloved of the Lord for being just Stephanie, but also for helping so many of His children. Hugs to you!

  8. I know what you mean. You have to take a break every once in a while. Especially if you are a frugal or deals blogger. It is a 6-7 day a week job! I know coz I used to spend more than 40 hours doing mine and now just do a little bit on it and have another blog I spend only some time on. I just don’t want my readers to miss out on any deals. You do a great job and want you to know I love the design on your blog. Thanks

  9. You have no idea how much better that post made me feel! It is so good to know that I am not the only one who has days like that. Thank you for reassuring me that it is o.k. to take a break (even though being a mother of a 2 & 4 year old means there is never really a break:) LOL Have a great holiday weekend!
