Fraudulent Coupon Alert: Free Doritos Printable

I posted a warning about this coupon on my facebook page a few weeks ago, but it has come to my attention that this coupon is still circulating.  Please be on alert for a FREE Doritos printable coupon that is being sent via email. This counterfeit coupon was not created by or authorized by Frito-Lay and should not be used under any circumstances.

Here are some tips for identifying this counterfeit coupon:

  • Offer is for a free bag up to $5
  • No purchase required and doesn’t feature a CIC hologram foil strip under expiration date
  • There is only one barcode in the right hand side
  • Coupon was distributed via e-mail

If you receive this coupon, kindly let the sender know that it is a fraudulent coupon and that they should not use it.  Additionally, the CIC (Coupon Information Center) is even offering a $2,500 reward for information that leads to the successful prosecution of the individual(s) responsible for producing this counterfeit coupon.

If you’ve fallen for this or any other fraudulent coupons, you can read my printable coupons post that includes tips for recognizing counterfeit coupons.

  1. Just posted on my blog about hubby finding these at work last week. He threw them out- he knew they were fakes because they were printables (multiples) for a free product! See, he does listen LOL

  2. Thanks for the heads up. This is what makes the stores crack down on the coupons they get. And makes it harder for us to save on our shopping bills. There are some really stupid people out there. They are only hurting themselves in the long run. Coupon clipping rules.
